I just signed up for an Amazon Visa credit card, It says that for every dollar I spend I will gain a point….Once I get to 2500 points that I will get a $25 gift card. I have a vacation coming up in March and we are going to pay cash. Can I simply put the vacation on this card and immediately send payment and get the reward? Or do you think it has to stay on the card for a certain amount of time.

I want to advertise to a website that offers easily available “master” gift cards on a website that would generate many hits on that advertisement, but Visa does not accept outside requests for advertising.
Does anyone on Yahoo answers know some other similar gift cards? It should be able to order things online.
Oh, it also should be able to be purchased fairly commonly by walking into stores and buying it.

I’m seventeen, and i have both a checking account and a savings account. I got my statement in the mail and it said that i could go online and get a student bank of america visa credit card. I filled it out and of course it didn’t go through because i put that i was seventeen. I figured if I put that I was eighteen it wouldn’t go through so I put that I was eighteen. The next screen told me that my application would be reviewed and within the next thirty days I’d get an answer. Turns out they accepted it and now I’m going to get a credit card in the mail soon. I found out that this is fraud today, so I don’t know what to do. If I don’t activate it can I get in trouble? If so, what do I do?

Hi, I am trying to get my first credit card. So far the best cards I have found are a student Visa and a student Discover card. The Discover card has a 3% lower interest rate, but I wasn’t sure if it would be as easy to use as Visa. Also if there are any other cards recommended- student or otherwise, for someone who has no credit. Thanks for the advice.

I am being sued by a collection agency for an old (over 3 years) Visa credit card debt. I live in Alabama and the Statue of Limitations on Open Accounts is 3 years. I hired an attorney but he says that I probably will have to settle because it is not an open account but a written contract account which has a SOL of 6 years. He says this because the collection agency produced a piece of paper that I signed when I opened the account (basically it’s the credit card application). I researched on my own and most information that I found says that credit cards are always open accounts. I did find one place (Wiki Answers) where someone said that credit cards could be written contracts. Is my attorney wrong or can this indeed be a written contract in some way. I really need to know before I go to court. Please give me some type of solid backup to your answer and not just your opinion.

I’m looking into getting another credit card that gives the best CASH BACK compared to all the others. We have cards that give us 1% back on all purchases, but I want something with better rewards. We have an American Express and it gives good cash back 1% to 3%, but is there a Visa card that gives equivalent rewards to the American Express?

Here’s my situation. I have a Wells Fargo Visa Credit Card that will expire it’s promo 6months 0% Interests. Now that market are down and many financial institution are raising their promo all the way to 15months 0% interest. I am tempted on this. I was reading some yahoo q&a that having too many credit cards can hurt your score. What is the limit that you can have that won’t affect your score much?
