credit cards
I have 2 cards from capital one that I use every month, but pay off every month. One has a credit limit of $500 the other is $1200. If I call to combine the credit limits into one card will my credit score suffer since one account will be considered closed? Or will it remain the same since the limit will not change.

I am planning on applying for another credit card with a higher limit to improve my score, and I don’t want a lot of cards. Thanks!

Right now I could either pay off my credit card balances entirely, or just continue to make higher than required monthly payments until the cards are paid off. Which would improve my credit score more? And if I should keep making monthly payments, how much over the required amount should I pay every month?

I have 4 cards with balances on them and will be paying them off next month. How soon will that reflect on my credit score? These cards have been open for a year.

Credit card offer
My FICO score is 0 right now. Who would offer me a credit card in order for me to start working on improving my credit score? Debit cards from the bank that function like Credit cards do not improve the FICO score.

I **** credit cards eversince, but here in the US I need to use it since it’s one way of building your credit history otherwise you won’t be able to buy high priced items like house & lot, cars etc. since they’ll look for a credit history.

credit cards compare
So, I got my free credit report from American Express today, and my score is 727. Is this low bracket excellent category? I feel as though I fully understand the fundamentals of a credit card.

Now, I am looking into auto loans. How would this effect me if I were trying to get an auto loan?

I have 4 credit cards on my report – two of them are low limit cards for stores, and I have not used the card yet. The other two are my American Express and Student Visa (i don’t really use visa anymore) but my credit limits are 2,000 and 1,700)

So, are these other cards bringing my score down? I don’t want to move into the “good” category at any point in life… Or will my score increase as I own these cards for longer and continue to pay off the balance every time? (my student visa is from 2007, and my AMEX is from 2008)

The three credit cards still open.
