Could I change/upgrade my credit card of the same bank without canceling one or signing a new application?

i have a college credit card… im about to graduate… and there are other cards with better rates… rewards and benifits…

im currently with citibank… i know canceling and signing new applications will lower my credit…

so i’ve had this credit card for 2 years now… can i get have the bank change the type of credit card with out canceling my account or signing up for a new one?

I pay off my balance every month and charge quite a bit, but I get nothing in return for the credit card I currently use. I’m thinking of switching and I get offers in the mail everyday. I need anyone with good credit to let me know what you think is the best card to have -reward wise. What are you getting with your card use?

I want to open my first credit card to start building credit for the future. I just started commuting to college instead of dorming so I was thinking I would just use it for gas or other small purchases and I absolutely would not default on any payments. I don’t need cash back or any weird rewards (ie: flyer miles) and I would like as low interest as possible. I know a ton of people that have the bank of america card and it seems pretty good but if you have any other suggestions or sites where I can compare features, list them here!

Also, do you build credit any faster if you have a more “risky” card (like higher interest or one with a low grace period)???

Is the miles earned through certain credit cards, the same as the miles which we will be able to travel?

Certain credit cards like Miles (Discover), No hassle miles (CapitalOne) offer miles earned as rewards. Does this means we can travel that much miles we earned or is it a different calculation.

I have a credit card from best buy, not the rewards zone, just the regular one. There isn’t any Visa or mastercard stamp on it, but can I use that at other places besides best buy?

I have great credit & have always paid bills on time, with no interest.

I would like to use this credit card all over the country and not see any additional charges/fees.

I would also like free pay online and over the phone if possible.

Offers Grace Period at no additional fees.

Rewards can be travel, cash back, etc.

Anyone know of any great credit cards that offer this or have on that you recommend??

I’m up to date on all of my current accounts, and I want to maximize the $4k+ I spend a month through credit cards. I do have a Frontiers card, but I max out and pay it off every month with about $1500 of charges that can be put on another card. Any suggestions? Thanks!
