Best Credit Card
Hi All. I’m a recent college grad who is fairly new to the workforce and is ready to get rid of her credit card debt!! I was fortunate enought not to borrow much in student loans (a total of about $9,000), however by grad time I owed about 9 thousand in credit card debt. Now I am ready to get rid of this burden. I know that this sounds horrible, but my situation was very different than that of the average student. I am a mother and was raising my daughter the whole time during college. Instead of working full time I focused on my studies and only worked part time. Needless to say this made everything harder but in the end it was worth it. Also, I’m not looking for an overnight solution. It took me six years to accumulate this debt so I know it wont disappera overnight. I’m just looking for the best way to go about it. Please help!

i went abroad to australia, and had to use my credit card while their, when i looked how to pay it back when i was in australia it said you could not pay back using international bank card,
anyway i left it at time and thought well i will need to wait until i get back to UK to sort something out,
im back in UK now, but on the statement that i owe them is 728pound, its not huge amount compared to others in debt i know, but it is for me right now as since getting back ive found it very difficult to get a job,and im also 27weeks pregnant, ive been back now for 8weeks and living with family at the moment but is not suitable when babies here, i need to start getting baby things soon,

what can i do about this, what is the minimum per week you can pay towards credit card debt, right now i actually could only tell them take out 5pound per month and nothing more, as i dont even have home yet or things for my baby,
i had a letter recently about if i dont pay it off in 1week then court, i want to know were i stand before calling them, as what i can do about this, can anyone give me any advise on how to go about this

Credit card application
Situation:
Massive Credit Card Debt; Recent Defaults; No Income; No Assets, Maine Residence.

1. What is the most common amount of time between a credit card default and a lawsuit?

2. What are the possible consequences of receiving a Default Judgment? [Not going to lawsuit court summons; contempt of court]

3. If “Contempt” is the courts judgment, is incarceration possible? [If yes, in which states?]

4. If one were to attend their court summons for defaulted credit card debt, and the debtor made it clear that they were unable to pay at all, what would be the most likely outcome?

5. Is anyone affiliated with the defaulted credit card debtor at any risk? [ie. friends, family; not including co-signers]

6. Is there any legal way to force credit card companies to stop harassing the employer listed on the original application?

7. What could be considered to be fraud, regarding the original credit card application?

8. When would anything perceived as fraudulent be addressed, regarding the default, lawsuit & judgment process?

Any response(s) would be greatly appreciated.

Credit card offer
I was one of those dumb 18 year olds who accepted every credit card offer that came in the mail. I have all paid off now accept one. It went to collections in 2002 and was recently sold to another collection agency. I understand that after 7 years your debt is sopposed to go off your credit report. Now that this debt was sold does the 7 years start over or will my 7 years be over next year?

I would estimate I am roughly $3,500 in debt through credit cards. I realize this is not a lot of debt compared to others…but my interest rates are terrible and I know I have thrown money away by only making minimum payments while I have had them the past few years. I am 24 and ready to get rid of this debt so I can only have the needed monthy payments(rent, car, ins., gas, etc.) Should I pay big chunks into one card to pay it off first? Or should I set an amount and pay them all the same amount each month? I am terrible with this kind of stuff!

Credit card offer
If I take a credit card cash advance and deposit this money into a money market account, is the interest on this credit card debt deductable on federal taxes? I have an unique credit card offer that would actually yield a significant profit if the interest is tax deductable.

I have 40,000 in Credit Card debt. I own my house outright. If I get a Home Equity Loan and move this credit from my cards to the HELOC will it improve my credit score or will it basically stay the same?

I have an elderly aunt who owns a modest home. She was almost bankrupt but worked very hard to pay her credit card debt out of fear of losing her house.

Do people who own homes outright end up simply not paying their credit card debt? I am so curious as to whether people who own homes “get away with” not paying off their credit cards.

Was my aunt “foolish” compared to other people because she didnt’ simply declare bankruptcy?
