Credit card offer
If you are approved, but don’t care for the APR or amount you are approved for,can you at that point, decide not to accept that card, or are you required then to accept the card? There is a card I’m looking into getting that I was sent an offer for,but I don’t want some card that is going to give me a $200 limit, that won’t do me any good for the purchase I intend to use it for,and I don’t want to just “have” another credit card to be tempted with. I can’t remember with the other cards I have,if I entered my info and once approved, just got sent the card without the option of deciding not to recieve it after reviewing what I was approved FOR. THanks!

Credit card application
When I was in college I was tricked into filling out a credit card application for a free smoothie. DUMB!

Anyway, I have a great credit score, about 750, and only 2 cards I have ever actively used. Both are currently at zero balance but I keep them cause they have good history.

Now, the real question…the card I got in college actually has the largest credit limit of all, but I have never used it a single time. In that I have the other 2 cards with good history, should I close the one I’ve never used, or should I just ignore it? I don’t want to do anything negative for my score, but I don’t like having a larger credit limit card just floating around either.

credit cards compare
So I have 2 cards one ive had for awhile and one i just got. The one I just got has a better rate and a higher limit $5000 compared to $1200 which is good. What if I paid the balance of the older credit card off with the new card and just used the new card would that be a good idea?
the 2 cards are with different companies

Credit card application
When applying for a credit card how or who determines what the cards limit will be? I filled out a couple applications today (Wells Fargo, Citizens Bank, Cap One, and Citi). Not one asked what limit I would like or thought I needed. Do they just give you a set limit and if you want to raise it you put in a request?

I’m very interested to see what kind of feed back you guys have for me. Thank you in advance.

Credit card application
I lied on two credit card applications. I used my OWN social security number but lied about my age and profession. Since they didn’t run my social am I liable for the contract and debt? This happened when I was 16, I am now 17 I turn 18 on Oct 25, 2008. I haven’t used the cards in a year. One is a Chase Mastercard with a $500 limit. The other is an American Express with a $2000 limit. They have started accruing interest and have since almost doubled what I owe.

Pleas help!! I am a freshman at UC Davis and am afraid this will ruin my chances of getting into graduate school in the future.

Credit card application
Received pre-approved offer in mail for Chase Visa Platinum credit card, applied online using offer code and received email response after submitted:

“We will notify you of your approval status in 30 days by U.S. Mail…etc.”

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of response and what it could mean? Good sign, are they actually considering the application or is it a bad sign for getting approved? Are online credit card normally applications immediately approved or not?

I only have 2 cards, not high limits and good credit score.

Credit card application
Ok, so I’m a student over 18yrs and am looking to get some credit. If I apply for a credit card and don’t get accepted (most likely for not enough credit history/income) will being denied have any negative impact/or record on my credit history?

I’m looking to apply for a bunch of cards but if not getting approved will leave a record/bad impact, then I will reconsider how many I will try to apply.

If you have any certain proof and an answer, that would be great

Best Credit Card
My credit rating is good, not bad. But I’ve heard that having too many cards can damage it. I know that calling is a bad way to cancell, plus they try to talk you out of it.

What is the BEST way to cancel, so the credit reporting agencies know that you canned the card, and not the reverse?

Best Credit Card
I’m looking into getting another credit card that gives the best CASH BACK compared to all the others. We have cards that give us 1% back on all purchases, but I want something with better rewards. We have an American Express and it gives good cash back 1% to 3%, but is there a Visa card that gives equivalent rewards to the American Express?
