I am looking to apply for my first credit card and not sure which one would be best for me. I am not going to use it all of the time, just purchases here and there to build up my credit. Does anyone have any suggestions? Your help is appreciated, thank you.

I see that most people recommend getting a credit card and paying off the balance every month to build credit. Is this the best way, in your opinion? If so, what credit card companies seem to be the best as far as interest rates and such… I’d imagine I could get a student card with a low line of credit (I’m 20). Any other tips would also be welcome

i am (8 month) new in the USA . I need a credit card and wish to build my credit. I applied twice but denied because of low fico score and inability to verify my information. I really don’t understand the effect of the application for credit card on my fico score, and what do i need to do to be able to get a credit card and build my credit. Thanks

How much should i charge on my secured credit card to get the best credit rating?
I can charge up to $500 on my secured credit card and want to know how much should I charge on my secured credit card to get the best credit rating. I need to build credit because I got none.
I’ll be paying it off every month.
I’m wondering how much I should charge on my secured credit card every month out of my $500 maximum.

Getting a credit card possibly, wanted to see what I should be looking for in a card, such as an approx APR that I can use as a standard for “good” and one for “bad”. Also, brands of student cards and such. Just need some insights to this, before I made my decision. I haev been searching on sites about credit cards, so if i can get info on a good rate to look for, then I can choose from the ones I am comparing currently. Obviously, I’m not stupid enough to want to apply for a card that is 25% beginning apr or something like that. pros and cons are helpful! I will be using this card ot build a credit history, mainly for my college bills , which i already have the sufficient funds and will be paying the bill in full monthly.

Could you please provide me with information about the way credit cards work? Do they build up your credit and if so, how? Is it true that one could buy things with credit cards and pay within a certain grace period and not have to pay any interest? This way only one’s credit would improve and one would never have to pay more than if one would have purchased items with cash. Thank you for your responses.
