Make small purchases every month or two and pay them off in full each time. That will establish a history of good credit payment. You don’t need to carry balances.

Having unused credit cards does nothing to enhance your credit score. Using them raises you credit score if you pay the balance off before your due date each month. It raises your score even more if you pay them off with some interest each month.
But if your credit card balance is high and rising, problems.

This credit scoring system is designed to identify customers who will be profitable to the credit granters. You have to spend a lot of money on interest to get a high score that way. Do what is best for you, pay of your credit card in full before each due date. only spend on a credit card what you can pay off before due date. anything more, get a loan at a reasonable interest rate.

Simple use them for every day things like gas, lunch whatever and pay them off in full every month before th due date.

Never carry a balance unless you have to and if you do never let it be over 30% of your credit limit or your score will take a hit.

I did this for 12-months and raised my score over 150-points.
