No this does not mean you necessarily have any established credit.
Many credit card companies are what are considered “first-time lenders” meaning they will extend credit to you even if you have no prior record or credit history.
The amounts that first-time lenders extend are usually very paltry and in the range of $300-$500, some agreements even require a small down payment being mandatory with each purchase.
If you’ve never had a credit card, loan or etc. you have no credit established. Credit card companies love people like you becuase you’re young and will most likely spend a lot on the card and only make the minimum payments; consequently, the credit card company will profit off the high interest rate you’ll end up paying.
They are just psyching you up to be able to get a credit card. You actually are not able to get a credit card without a cosigner until the age of 18, in most states at least… I think you should sign up for the new identity theft protection things, because it seems as though your social is being given to these credit cards by some sort of reporting agency.. Since you are only 16 this is illegal…
all it means is your ssn has been pre screened and you may be able to get a card .. but be warry of the apr
