I have a number of credit cards that I will be paying off in full. Is it better to close most of them (except for one or two), or should I keep them open?

I’m not talking about maxing them out, but using them instead of personal credit cards, say, if the business closed. The business cards don’t show on the personal credit report.
A business that you personally owned as a sole prop; not a corporation or another company you work for.
After looking at several sites, it appears it coulbe be construed as fraud, but for sole props, there is really no way to prove it. The credit companies don’t police it and don’t care as long as payments are made.

I was going to close out some credit cards with of course 0.00 balance but I heard it will affect your credit and/or score. Will it do either?. I have a few with high limits and I don’t have anything on them and I thought if anything it would make my credit better. Please help!
I have had a few for over 7yrs and one that was just opened.

I bought my brother a laptop 2 days ago and 14 hours after having it, he was ripped off at a library with it (snatched right in front of him and the kid booked). We were told to call the credit card to see if there’s a protection program that might cover the theft. I purchased it with Discover and they said they don’t offer that sort of protection. If I were to buy another one with a Visa or Mastercard, would that make ANY difference?

Im not sure if i have all of the information correct. But i know of someone that has about three small limit credit cards, and a cell phone bill that all equal to about 2500-3000 debt. As of right now its almost impossible for her to pay the minimum balance of the bills and they are threatening to take her to court. Its just overwhelming. Can she file for bankruptcy for credit cards? If not what will happen with her or what will they do.
